Working at Peak Downs. Roster, camp & Reviews
Coal is the focus at Peak Downs, an operating mine located in the South East region of Queensland. The site produces coal, one of the commodities that has long underpinned employment across the state and continues to draw FIFO and drive-in workers from a range of trades and disciplines. If you are weighing up where to base your next role, this is a Queensland operation still in active production, which generally means ongoing demand for operators, maintainers, and support crews. Coal mining in Queensland typically involves either open cut or underground methods, with roles spanning heavy equipment operation, processing, drill and blast, and site maintenance. The specific mine type here is not detailed, so it is worth confirming with the employer whether the work is surface or underground, as this affects the day to day nature of the job and the skills you will need. Details such as the operator, nearest town, camp arrangements, and roster patterns are not listed for this site, so anyone considering an application should clarify these directly during the recruitment process. Understanding the travel logistics, accommodation setup, and roster length upfront will help you judge whether the lifestyle balance suits you before committing to a position at Peak Downs.
