Working at Blackwater. Roster, camp & Reviews
Coal mining is the focus at Blackwater, an operating site located in the South East region of Queensland. For workers weighing up their options, this is one of the state's coal operations, and coal work in Queensland generally covers a mix of extraction, haulage, processing and site maintenance roles depending on how the operation is set up. The specific operator running Blackwater is not confirmed here, so it is worth checking the current job listing or company details directly before you apply, as coal assets in Queensland do change hands over time. Details such as the mine type, whether the work is open cut or underground, are also not specified in the available information, which again is something to clarify with the recruiter so you know what kind of environment you would be working in day to day. Being in South East Queensland, the site sits within one of the more established coal regions of the state. The nearest town, on site camp arrangements and roster patterns have not been listed, so anyone considering FIFO or drive in drive out work here should confirm accommodation, travel and the swing before committing. Getting those logistics straight early will help you judge whether the lifestyle suits you.
