Working at Huntly. Roster, camp & Reviews

Located in the South West region of Western Australia, Huntly is a bauxite operation that is currently active and producing. Bauxite is the primary ore used in the production of aluminium, and mining it typically involves open cut methods where the ore sits relatively close to the surface, followed by processing to prepare it for refining. Work on bauxite sites often centres on earthmoving, drill and blast, haulage and rehabilitation, given the shallow nature of the deposits. The South West is one of the more accessible parts of the state for mine workers, sitting well away from the extreme heat and isolation of the Pilbara and Goldfields. The region is known for its cooler climate, forested landscapes and closer proximity to Perth, which can make it appealing for those who prefer to be nearer to the city and coastal towns. This can also open up the possibility of drive in drive out arrangements alongside more traditional fly in fly out work. Specific details about the operator, roster patterns, camp facilities and the closest town have not been confirmed here, so it is worth checking directly with the employer or recruiter before applying. Confirming site access, accommodation and shift structure early will help you weigh up whether Huntly suits your circumstances.
