Working at Finniss. Roster, camp & Reviews

Located in the North West of the Northern Territory, Finniss sits within a part of the country known for its tropical climate and considerable distance from major population centres. The project focuses on battery and alloy metals, the kind of raw materials that feed into the growing demand for energy storage and lightweight metal products. Operations of this type generally involve extracting and processing ore that will eventually be refined for use in batteries, alloys and related industrial applications. At present the site is under care and maintenance, which means active mining and production have paused while the asset is kept in a stable and safe condition. For FIFO workers, this is worth factoring in, since roles during care and maintenance tend to differ from full production phases and may centre on monitoring, upkeep and site integrity rather than large scale operational work. The operator, mine type, nearest town, camp arrangements and roster details are not confirmed here, so anyone considering applying should clarify those points directly with the relevant company or recruiter. Given the Northern Territory setting, expect a remote posting with the heat and wet season conditions typical of the Top End, and check travel logistics and accommodation carefully before committing to a swing.
